Mr Joseph Sekiko was arrested after his radio station, known as Fadeco FM, aired a live dialogue on the ongoing campaign in the country of removing all illegal immigrants.

Bukoba. Police in Kagera Region have questioned the owner of a private radio station in Karagwe District over allegations of being an illegal immigrant.
Mr Joseph Sekiko was arrested after his radio station, known as Fadeco FM, aired a live dialogue on the ongoing campaign in the country of removing all illegal immigrants.
Impeccable sources told The Citizen on Saturday that the interrogation of Mr Sekiko at Kayanga Police Station went on until late in the night on Thursday.
The sources said the authorities were accusing the businessman of instigating illegal immigrants to resist expulsion.
According to the source, the police also accused Mr Sekiko of harbouring illegal immigrants because of his alleged connections with foreign nationals and regular visits in different countries.
Kagera regional immigration officer assistant commissioner George Kombe, confirmed the arrest. He pointed out that the interrogation was going on before final decisions were made.
However, the sources said after providing relevant documents regarding his immigration status, the police alleged that the accused will have to undergo scrutiny by responsible authorities.
Mr Kombe said the accused was told to report back for more interrogation yesterday morning.
Chairman of the Karagwe Development Network of Voluntary Organisations, Mr Telesphory Kalemera, criticised the arrest saying the radio owner was being victimised for revealing the shortcomings of a crackdown on illegal immigrants.
During a press conference a few days ago, the expulsion spokesman DCP Simon Sirro cleared off widespread allegations said to be committed against those being rounded up ready for deportation.
He pledged that media stories should be balanced and report what actually was happening.
