Dar es Salaam. Nordic Computers Limited has launched its desktop computers assembly plant at Mikocheni in Kinondoni District, Dar es Salaam.
Announcing the launch of the plant, Nordic
Marketing manager Clement Mugabo yesterday said the plant has the
capacity of assembling between 30 to 50 pieces of computers a day,
depending on the orders from customers.
He said that in a month the factory can assemble about 1,200 computer pieces.
Mr Mugabo said this development will redefine the standards for dealing and accessing computers in the country.
He said that they will have day-to-day production
which will eliminate the lead time issues that many customers currently
face in Tanzania when importing desktop computers.
“Nordic plans to employ at least 10 new workers by
the end of this year, bringing to the total number of employees at
Nordic Computers to over 20,” he said.
A founding director, Mr Simon Vestergaard, said
the vision is set to new standards for warranty service in Tanzania by
guaranteeing all customers a five-day repair guarantee.
Mr Vestergaard said that a customer will be given a new computer if the piece he bought earlier is found to be defective.
“We found that there was a gap in the Tanzanian
market for this kind of product. We offer same products but of better
quality standards as the competing international desktop brands you see
in Tanzania but our warranty service and product availability are our
key advantages,” he said.
Nordic Computers is a limited liability company doing import and whole sale of computer parts and accessories in Tanzania.
The company was founded in 2009 by a team of Danish partners and a Tanzanian businessman.
