ICC pushes trial of Kenya's President to February 2014

The International Criminal Court (ICC) judges have postponed the commencement of Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta's trial to February 2014.
President Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto and journalist Joshua arap Sang are charged with crimes against humanity relating to the 2007/ 2008 post-election violence in Kenya.
According to a press statement from ICC, the Trial Chamber V(b) had (ICC) decided to postpone the trial’s commencement February 5, 2014.
The trial was initially scheduled to begin on November 12, 2013.
Both the Defence and the Prosecutor, The Chamber noted, were in agreement on postponing the trial date.
Following the new development, The Hague-based court appealed to both parties to ensure adequate preparations to ensure that no further postponements were required.
