Children murdered in New York home



Police take into custody a person of interest in the stabbing and killing of five people in a Brooklyn house.

Police say a person of interest has been taken into custody in the deaths of four children and a 37-year-old woman who were stabbed at a house in New York borough of Brooklyn.
The New York Police Department (NYPD) said early on Sunday that officers who arrived on the scene found found all five victims unconscious and unresponsive.
A one-year-old boy and two girls, ages seven and nine, were pronounced dead at the residence by emergency responders.
Police did not immediately disclose the victims' relationships to one another.
Jim Long, New York Fire Department spokesman, said emergency responders arrived at the house in the Sunset Park neighbourhood just before 11pm on Saturday after reports of a stabbing.
